Who runs ShivAstro

ShivAstro (https://shivastro.vercel.app) is a free Vedic and Western astrology tool — birth charts, Kundli, Guna Milan matching, AI palm and face reading — built and run by Shivam Sharma, an individual proprietor operating out of India. There is no separate company entity; Shivam is the person legally responsible for the data practices described on this page, and the one you'd reach through the contact channel below.

What ShivAstro actually asks for

Casting a Vedic or Western birth chart needs four things from you: name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. Nothing else is required to generate a Kundli, Navamsa chart, Vimshottari Dasha timeline, or Ashtakavarga reading — no email, no account, no OTP.

The AI Palm Reading and AI Face Reading tools work from a photo you take or upload in-browser. That photo is sent to our AI provider for analysis and is not retained by ShivAstro after the reading is generated.

If you open the "Ask the AI Astrologer" chat or use "Go Deeper" on any section of your chart, your typed questions and the relevant chart data are forwarded to Groq (our AI inference provider) purely to generate that one response.

Booking a paid Astrologer Consultation, buying a Premium PDF report, or paying for a Palm/Face Reading additionally requires a phone number, so the order can be matched to a real payment and, for consultations, so our astrologer can reach you on WhatsApp.

Where your data actually lives

There is no user database behind ShivAstro. Your chart is computed fresh on our server for every single request and discarded once the response is sent — nothing about your birth details is written to disk or persisted server-side.

If you click "Save chart," that data is written to localStorage inside your own browser only; ShivAstro's servers never see it again unless you revisit and it's read back from your device. The same is true of your AI-chat conversation history — it lives in your browser, not on a server we control.

Payments — handled entirely by Cashfree

Every paid feature (Astrologer Consultation, Premium PDF, Palm Reading, Face Reading) is charged through Cashfree Payments, a RBI-regulated payment aggregator. Your card number, UPI ID, and banking credentials are entered directly into Cashfree's own checkout — ShivAstro's code never receives, transmits, or stores them. We only receive a payment confirmation and an order ID from Cashfree once a transaction succeeds.

The three vendors ShivAstro relies on

• Groq — runs the AI models behind chart interpretation, the AI astrologer chat, and palm/face reading analysis.
• Cashfree Payments — the only party that touches your payment instrument.
• Vercel — hosts the application and serves every page you're reading right now.

No advertising network, analytics-and-ad broker, or data reseller sits behind ShivAstro. These three are the complete list.

Consultation bookings, specifically

When you book a paid Astrologer Consultation, the birth details and questions you enter are relayed to our astrologer over WhatsApp so they can prepare before your session and respond to you directly. This is the one flow where a human, not just an AI model, sees your input.

Asking us to delete something

Because nothing is stored in a central database, most "deletion" requests are already handled by the architecture — closing your browser tab clears saved charts and chat history. For the one exception (consultation questions relayed to our astrologer over WhatsApp), email or message us via the Contact Us page and we'll remove that WhatsApp thread on request.

Grievance contact (IT Rules, 2021)

In accordance with Rule 5(9) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Grievance Officer for ShivAstro is Shivam Sharma, reachable through the form on the Contact Us page. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days, as the Rules require.

If this policy changes

Astrology features on this site get added and reworked often (Palm and Face Reading, for instance, didn't exist at launch). When a change actually affects what data is collected or how it's used, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page moves and the relevant section above is rewritten — not just re-dated.
