About the builder
I'm a software engineer, not a professional astrologer — and that's deliberate. ShivAstro exists because most free astrology sites either hard-code generic Sun-sign content or run approximate math. I built the chart engine myself against a precise astronomical ephemeris, using the standard Lahiri ayanamsa for Vedic calculations and classical Ashtakoota, Vimshottari and divisional-chart formulas sourced from established Jyotish texts — the interpretive traditions are the astrology's, the computation and the site are mine.
